Hail and well met! Thanks so much for stopping by my blog. I’ve been writing for as long as I can remember and blogging since the fateful, overdramatic days of Xanga and LiveJournal – which have thankfully both since perished and taken my overdramatic middle-school ramblings with them.
While my blogging to this point has been scattered and sporadic, I’ve recently decided to take my passion for writing and community to the next level. I hope that in these pages you will find a place of honesty, vulnerability, openness, and dogs. Lots of dogs. This space is for those who like their earnestness with a side of sarcasm. It’s for the dreamer, the skeptic, the lost and the lonely. It probably isn’t for my grandparents – but what can you do?
I’m a social worker by day, and by night you can usually find me binging Netflix with a cat or two on my lap, making soup, studying grocery ads, or painting my nails. Besides blogging, I also freelance for non-profit organizations, writing appeals and newsletters.
Things I could talk about for hours include hospitality, faith, cooking, helping others, intersectional feminism, sex education, the intersection of shame and purity culture, the McElroy Brothers, being unprepared for adulting, and planning grocery lists.
